How to create a worker in Andon

SUMMARY

Use this guide to add a new worker to the Andon system and configure how they receive notifications. Creating workers ensures the correct people can be contacted when Andon calls are raised.

 

 

WHEN TO USE THIS

  • Use this guide if:
    • You need to add a new person who should receive Andon notifications.
    • You need to assign a worker to a specific Andon role.
    • You need to configure escalation notifications for a worker.

PREREQUISITES

  • Before starting:
    • You have access to the Andon module.
    • You know the worker's name, email address, and phone number.
    • The required Andon role has been defined.

STEPS

  1. Open the Andon module.
  2. Select Workers.
  3. Click the + button to create a new worker.
  4. Enter the worker's:
    • Name
    • Email address
    • Phone number
  5. Select the worker's Role.
  6. Configure the Call Delay for the role.
    • This determines how long after a Call is created the worker should be notified if the Call has not been taken.
  7. Configure the Taken Delay for the role.
    • This determines how long after a Call has been taken the worker should be notified if the Call has not been resolved.
  8. Configure any additional escalation delays if required.
    • Multiple escalation levels can be configured to send additional notifications after longer periods of time.
  9. Select the notification method for each escalation level:
    • Email
    • SMS/Text message
  10. Save the worker.

EXPECTED RESULT

  • After completing these steps:
    • The worker appears in the Andon worker list.
    • The worker is assigned to the selected role.
    • The worker can receive Andon notifications based on the configured escalation rules.
    • Operators can select the worker's role when creating an Andon Call.

TROUBLESHOOTING

  • Issue: The worker is not receiving notifications.
    • Try: Verify the email address and phone number are entered correctly.
    • Try: Confirm the worker is marked as available in the Andon schedule.
       
  • Issue: The worker is not notified when a Call is created.
    • Try: Review the configured Call Delay.
    • Try:Confirm the Call has remained active long enough to trigger the notification.
       
  • Issue: The worker's role does not appear when creating a Call.
    • Try: Verify the worker has been assigned a role.
    • Try:Confirm the role has been configured correctly in the Andon system.
