Official instructions

Schedule a task

At the time of writing, you ask for a scheduled task in Claude Cowork. Normal Claude chat cannot schedule tasks, so you must use Cowork.

  1. Open Claude Desktop and select Cowork.
  2. Type a request that says what to do and when. For example:

Every weekday at 07:00 Europe/Copenhagen time, use the Factbird MCP to get yesterday's OEE, downtime and top 5 stop causes for all lines. Send me a short summary.

  3. Claude sets up the scheduled task. Review it and confirm.
  4. To see, edit or pause your tasks, click Scheduled in the left sidebar.

You can also click Scheduled → Set up manually and enter a name, prompt and frequency yourself.

Scheduled tasks run in the cloud, so they run even when your computer is asleep. They can use your connectors, including Factbird.

Tip 1: Give a time zone in the prompt, so that your agent doesn’t guess a time zone and daily totals line up the way you expect.

Tip 2: Agents become more powerful when they can use more data and tools. For example:• Connect email or chat apps so that your agent can send the digest to your stakeholders.• Connect your other production systems, such as Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) or Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) systems. Your agent can then answer questions that need data from both Factbird and those systems.
