Use these steps to make a Factbird agent and give it to your organisation in Teams and Microsoft 365 Copilot.
Who can do this: Copilot needs two roles. An agent maker with Copilot Studio access builds the agent. A Teams admin approves it for the organisation.

Official instructions: add MCP server · Official instructions: publish to Teams and Copilot
1. Make the agent
At the time of writing, the agent maker:
- In Copilot Studio, create a new agent named Factbird.
- Go to Tools → Add a tool → New tool → Model Context Protocol.
- Enter a server name and a description, for example "Factbird production KPIs: OEE, downtime, stops, output".
- Set Server URL to https://api.cloud.factbird.com/mcp.
- Set authentication to OAuth 2.0 → Dynamic discovery. Select Create.
- Select Create a new connection → Add to agent.
- Select Publish.
2. Connect the agent to Teams and Copilot
- Go to Channels → Teams and Microsoft 365 Copilot.
- Keep Make agent available in Microsoft 365 Copilot selected. Select Add channel.
- Optional: to let users add the agent to a team channel, select Edit details → Allow your users to add this agent to a team.
3. Give the agent to the organisation
- Select Availability options → Show to everyone in my org → Submit for admin approval.
- A Teams admin approves the agent in the Teams admin center → Manage apps.
- The agent then shows in Built for your org (Teams app store) and Built by your org (Microsoft 365 Agent Store).
- Optional: the admin uses app setup policies to install and pin the agent for users.
To test with a small group first, use Show to my teammates and shared users instead. Do not use both options at the same time.
Connect as a workspace member
- In Teams or Microsoft 365 Copilot, open Apps → Built for your org and add the Factbird agent.
- In Copilot, type @Factbird and ask a question.
- Sign in with your Factbird account and click Allow.
Tip: The Factbird agent works in both Teams and Microsoft 365 Copilot, but the user experience is different in each app. For example, only Teams lets you add the agent to a team channel or group chat. Try both and use the one that works best for you.
