How to import an irregular production shift schedule

WHEN TO USE THIS

Use this guide if:

• Your production schedule changes frequently.
• A repeating weekly shift schedule is not suitable.
• You need to import a custom shift schedule into Factbird.

PREREQUISITES

Before starting:

• You have received the Factbird irregular shift schedule Excel template.
• You know the production dates and shift times that need to be imported.
• You have permission to configure shift schedules or can contact Factbird Support.

STEPS

1. Download the irregular shift schedule template
   • Obtain the Excel template provided by Factbird. Excel Template
      

2. Complete the template

   • Enter the required production dates.
   • Enter the start and end time for each shift.
   • Complete any additional required fields in the template.

   Tip

   • Review the completed template carefully before submitting it to ensure all shift information is correct.
      
3. Submit the completed template
   • Send the completed Excel template to Factbird Support for validation and import.
      
4. Wait for validation
   • Factbird will review the schedule to ensure the data is valid and can be imported successfully.
   • If any issues are identified, you may be contacted to correct the template.
      
5. Confirm the imported schedule
   • Once the import has been completed, verify that the shifts appear correctly within Factbird.
   • Confirm that the dates and production times match the submitted schedule.

EXPECTED RESULT

After completing these steps:

• Your irregular production shift schedule has been imported into Factbird.
• Shift-based reporting and production calculations use the imported schedule.
• Production is reported according to the configured custom shift pattern.

TROUBLESHOOTING

Issue: The schedule cannot be imported.

• Try: Verify that all required fields in the Excel template have been completed.

• Try: Ensure the shift dates and times are entered in the correct format.

Issue: The imported shifts are incorrect.

• Try: Review the submitted Excel template for errors.

• Try: Contact Factbird Support if the imported schedule does not match the submitted template.

Issue: Production is not being reported against the expected shifts.

• Try: Confirm the correct schedule has been imported.

• Try: Verify that the production line is assigned to the imported schedule.
