When I run a batch overnight why is my average speed/min not right?

ANSWER

  • When a batch is left running overnight, the overnight downtime is included in the batch calculations. Because this downtime is not automatically excluded, the average speed per minute appears lower than expected.

ADDITIONAL DETAILS

  • If production continues the following day, it may make sense to break the batch down into 2 if you are concerned about the downtime calculation being taken into account.
  • This excludes the overnight shutdown from the batch calculations.

LIMITATIONS (if applicable)

  • Overnight downtime is included while the batch remains active.
  • Leaving a batch running continuously across planned shutdowns affects average speed and downtime calculations.
