Validated speed (green line) is the speed that has been officially verified as achievable under normal operating conditions (e.g., pieces per minute) and is sometimes referred to as nominal speed. The difference between the validated speed and the actual speed is calculated as speed loss in OEE.
Note 1: Depending on your industry, you may use cycle time instead of line speed. In that case, you can calculate speed from cycle time.
Example: Validated speed = 60 ÷ cycle time (2 sec/piece) → 30 pieces/minute
Note 2: Example of calculating expected speed:
Expected speed = Validated speed (150 pieces/minute) × OEE target (60%) → 90 pieces/minute
