What is expected speed?

Expected speed (black line) is the expected production speed while running, and it is used to calculate the shift or batch target.

Note 1: Depending on your industry, you may use cycle time instead of line speed. In that case, you can calculate speed from cycle time.

 Example: Validated speed = 60 ÷ cycle time (2 sec/piece) → 30 pieces/minute

Note 2: Example of calculating expected speed:
 Expected speed = Validated speed (150 pieces/minute) × OEE target (60%) → 90 pieces/minute
