SUMMARY
Use this guide to manually create a batch in Factbird when batches are not imported from an ERP system or spreadsheet. Creating a batch allows you to schedule production, track performance, and monitor batch progress on a line.
WHEN TO USE THIS
- Use this guide if:
- You need to create a new production batch manually
- Your batches are not automatically imported from an ERP system
- You want to schedule a batch for a production line
- You need to track production targets for a batch
PREREQUISITES
- Before starting:
- You must have access to the Batch tab for the line
- Products should already be configured if you want to use product presets
- You should know the planned batch quantity and start time
STEPS
- Open the line where you want to create the batch.
- Go to the Batch tab.
- Click the plus (+) button in the lower-right corner.
- Select Add a batch.
- (Optional) Select a product from the Product dropdown.
- Selecting a product automatically fills in:
- Expected speed
- Validated speed
- Data multiplier
- Selecting a product automatically fills in:
- Enter the Batch number.
- Use the batch or work order number used in your production process.
- Enter the Planned amount.
- This is the quantity you plan to produce in the batch.
- Select the Planned start time for the batch.
- Review the batch information.
- Click Create batch.
Products can be configured with custom product parameters, such as barcode, material size, packaging material etc. The product parameters can be used to create a changeover matrix, setting targets for the changeover depending on changes in product parameters.
EXPECTED RESULT
- After completing these steps:
- The new batch appears in the Batch table
- The batch is marked as Pending
- The batch is scheduled using the planned start time
- Product targets and speeds are applied if a product was selected
TROUBLESHOOTING
- Issue: The product fields do not auto-fill
- Try:
- Verify that the product is configured for the line
- Re-select the product from the dropdown
- Try:
- Issue: The batch does not appear in the Batch table
- Try:
- Refresh the page
- Confirm that all required fields were completed before creating the batch
- Try:
- Issue: The planned stop time looks incorrect
- Try:
- Check the expected speed configured for the product
- Verify whether shift-aware scheduling is enabled for the line
