Reports Overview

SUMMARY

Use Reports to create, share, and distribute production analytics directly within Factbird. Reports help teams standardize operational visibility across lines, shifts, and sites using real-time production data without external reporting tools or integrations.

WHAT THIS IS

  • Reports is a native reporting feature in Factbird that allows users to build production reports using Factbird data. Reports can combine operational metrics, visual widgets, and production insights into reusable report layouts that are shared across teams or locations.

  • Reports exist in two forms:
    • Private Reports, which are visible only to the creator
    • Company Reports, which are shared with broader teams based on location permissions

  • Reports can also be distributed automatically through scheduled email delivery with PDF attachments.

WHY IT MATTERS

  • Manufacturing teams often need consistent visibility into production performance across multiple lines, shifts, or factories. Without a centralized reporting system, reporting may rely on spreadsheets, exports, or external BI tools that require manual updates and additional integrations.

  • Reports provide a standardized way to present production data directly from Factbird in real time. This helps teams:
    • Compare performance across operations
    • Share the same metrics with multiple stakeholders
    • Reduce manual reporting work
    • Create reusable reporting templates
    • Ensure reporting is based on current production data

WHEN YOU WOULD USE THIS

  • Use this when:
    • You need recurring production performance summaries
    • Multiple teams need access to the same operational metrics
    • You want to compare production across lines, shifts, or sites
    • You want automated report delivery by email
    • You need reporting without external BI platforms or custom integrations

HOW IT WORKS

  • Reports are created within the Insights area of Factbird and are built using configurable report widgets. These widgets display operational metrics and production data directly from the Factbird platform.

  • A report typically starts as a Private Report, where an individual user organizes the analytics and data views they need. A Private Report can then be converted into a Company Report, which acts as a shared reporting template for a specific location.

  • Access to Company Reports is controlled through location-based permissions. Only users with permission for the associated location can edit or manage the report.

  • Reports can include data from multiple production lines, shifts, or sites, allowing organizations to standardize reporting structures across operations.

  • Reports can also be distributed automatically. Subscribers receive reports as scheduled emails with attached PDFs based on a configured delivery cadence such as daily, weekly, or monthly.

  • All reports are powered directly by real-time Factbird production data, so no additional integrations, APIs, or external reporting systems are required.

COMMON MISUNDERSTANDINGS

Reports are not separate from Factbird analytics

  • Reports use the same production data already available within the platform.

Company Reports are not automatically editable by all users.

  • Editing permissions depend on the selected location and user access rights.

Reports are not dependent on external BI tools.

  • The reporting functionality is built directly into Factbird.

Scheduled reports do not create static dashboards.

They distribute snapshots of report data at the selected delivery cadence.
