SUMMARY
Use the Batch Dashboard to monitor the performance of an active production batch in real time. The dashboard provides live production status, key performance indicators (KPIs), production progress, and target tracking, helping operators and managers understand how the current batch is performing.
WHAT THIS IS
The Batch Dashboard provides a live view of an active production batch. It combines production metrics, line status, and production targets into a single dashboard, allowing users to monitor progress as production takes place.
The dashboard is designed to give operators, supervisors, and managers immediate visibility into batch performance without needing to analyse historical reports.
It is commonly displayed on large screens near production lines so teams can monitor production during daily operations or Gemba walks.
WHY IT MATTERS
The Batch Dashboard helps production teams identify issues as they occur rather than waiting until a batch has finished.
Using the dashboard allows teams to:
- Monitor live batch performance.
- Compare actual production against the expected production target.
- Identify production delays.
- Track key production KPIs.
- Respond quickly to downtime that may affect batch completion.
WHEN YOU WOULD USE THIS
Use this when:
- Monitoring an active production batch.
- Reviewing production performance in real time.
- Tracking progress towards batch completion.
- Supervising production from the factory floor.
- Conducting operational or Gemba walk reviews.
HOW IT WORKS
The Batch Dashboard continuously updates using live production data collected from the production line.
It displays information including:
- Current line status.
- The active batch.
- Product currently being produced.
- Planned production quantity.
- Actual production quantity.
- Estimated batch completion time.
- Production KPIs.
- Unregistered stops during the last 24 hours.
The dashboard also includes a production progress graph.
- The black line represents the expected production count required for the batch to remain on target.
- The red area highlights the gap between the expected production count and the actual production count, making it easy to see when production is falling behind schedule.
By combining these live metrics into a single view, the Batch Dashboard helps users quickly assess whether production is progressing as expected.
KEY TERMS / COMPONENTS
Batch Dashboard
- A real-time dashboard used to monitor the performance of an active production batch.
Line Status
- The current operating condition of the production line, including whether the line is running or stopped.
Expected Count
- The number of units that should have been produced at the current point in time for the batch to remain on schedule.
Actual Count
- The number of units that have been produced so far during the active batch.
Unregistered Stops
- Stops that have been detected but have not yet been assigned a stop cause.
Estimated Completion Time
- The projected time at which the active batch is expected to finish based on current production performance.
COMMON MISUNDERSTANDINGS
- The Batch Dashboard displays live production data for the currently active batch. It is not intended for analysing completed batches.
- The production progress graph compares expected production with actual production. Falling behind the expected count does not necessarily indicate a machine fault, but it may highlight production delays that require investigation.
- The Batch Dashboard focuses on a single active batch. Historical batch analysis is available through the Batch Analysis feature.
