Basic Line Setup

A Line is a collection of sensors that together describe a manufacturing line. Here, the sensor can have roles as a scrap sensor or bottleneck sensor. Analog sensors can monitor the production environment and relate the data to the output of the line. The Line feature is a powerful tool to relate data and create context.

Dive into this step-by-step tutorial to learn how to create and set up a production line in the Factbird system. This video covers everything from selecting sensors to naming your line and defining critical operational parameters such as bottleneck sensors and scrap detection. Ideal for factory managers and operators looking to optimize their production process through effective line setup and monitoring in Factbird.

Line Configuration

The fundamentals of a line configuration is the give the line a name and a bottleneck sensor. Factbird recommend using a global naming convention when naming lines.

A sensor can only be used on one line as a bottleneck sensor. You can therefore only select a bottleneck sensor if it is not already used by another line.

In addition to the bottleneck sensor you can add additional sensors which can serve as scrap sensors, analog measurements, energy consumption or just as additional data point.
