How to create a stop alarm

SUMMARY

Use this guide to create a stop alarm for a digital sensor. Stop alarms notify subscribers when a production stop exceeds a configured duration.

 

WHEN TO USE THIS

  • Use this guide if:
    • You want to receive notifications about prolonged production stops.
    • You need to monitor specific stop durations on a digital sensor.

PREREQUISITES

  • Before starting:
    • You have access to the sensor you want to configure.
    • The sensor is configured as a digital sensor.

STEPS

  1. Open the sensor from the Sensors list.
  2. Select the Alarms tab.
  3. Click the + button to create a new alarm.

  4. In the alarm type dropdown, select Stop for T Seconds.
  5. Enter the stop duration threshold in minutes.
  6. Click + ADD NEW SUBSCRIBERS TO ALARM.

  7. Add one or more subscribers and choose email, SMS, or both as the notification method.
  8. Click CONFIRM.
  9. Click Create Alarm.

EXPECTED RESULT

  • After completing these steps:
    • A new stop alarm is created for the selected sensor.
    • Subscribers will receive notifications when a stop exceeds the configured duration.
    • The alarm appears in the sensor's alarm list.

TROUBLESHOOTING

  • Issue: The alarm is marked as Inactive.
    • Try: Add at least one subscriber to the alarm.
    • Try: Edit the alarm and verify subscriber details are configured correctly.
       
  • Issue: Notifications are not being sent.
    • Try: Confirm the alarm status is Enabled.
    • Try: Verify subscriber email addresses or phone numbers are entered correctly.
