SUMMARY
Use this guide to create a speed alarm for a sensor in the Factbird system. Speed alarms notify subscribers when a production line runs below a defined percentage of its validated speed for a specified period of time.
WHEN TO USE THIS
- Use this guide if:
- You want to monitor reduced production speed on a line
- You need automatic notifications when line performance drops
- You want to detect hidden speed loss during production
- You need to alert operators or managers about low line efficiency
PREREQUISITES
- Before starting:
- You must have access to the Factbird system
- A sensor must already be configured on the production line
- The sensor must have a validated speed configured
- You must know who should receive the alarm notifications
STEPS
- Open the Sensors tab in the Factbird system.
- Select the sensor you want to configure the speed alarm for.
- Open the Alarms tab.
- Click the + button to create a new alarm.
- Enter a name and description for the alarm.
- Ensure the alarm is enabled.
- Select Speed alarm as the alarm type.
- Configure the alarm rule:
- Set the threshold percentage (x)
- Set the evaluation window in seconds (y)
- Add one or more subscribers:
- Enter an email address for notifications
- Optionally add an SMS number
- Click Create alarm.
EXPECTED RESULT
- After completing these steps:
- The speed alarm is active on the selected sensor
- Subscribers receive notifications when the average line speed falls below the configured threshold
- The system continuously evaluates production speed using the configured evaluation window
TROUBLESHOOTING
- Issue: The alarm does not trigger
- Try:
- Verify that the sensor has a validated speed configured
- Try:
- Check whether downtime occurred during the evaluation window, as interrupted data prevents the alarm from triggering
