SUMMARY
Use this guide to create stop categories and downtime causes for a production line. This allows operators to correctly register machine stops and categorize downtime during production.
WHEN TO USE THIS
Use this guide if:
You need to set up downtime categories for a production line
Operators cannot select a stop cause when registering machine stops
PREREQUISITES
Before starting:
You have access to the production line configuration
You have permission to edit stop causes
STEPS
Create a Stop Category
Select the production line you want to configure.
Navigate to the Register Stops page.
Click the Edit (purple pen) icon.
Click New Category.
Enter a name for the category (for example, Machine Issues).
Click the check icon to save the category.
Create a Downtime Cause
In the Stop Category, click the + icon.
Enter the Stop Cause Name.
Select the correct Stop Cause Type (for example, Loss during operation).
Click Create New Stop Cause.
EXPECTED RESULT
After completing these steps:
A new stop category is available for the production line
One or more downtime causes are created inside the category
Operators can select these causes when registering stops
TROUBLESHOOTING
Issue: Cannot create a stop category
Try: Confirm you are on the Register Stops page for the correct line
Try: Check that you have edit permissions for stop configuration
Issue: Downtime cause does not appear for operators
Try: Confirm the cause was saved under the correct category
Try: Refresh the page and reopen the Register Stops view
