SUMMARY
Use this guide to configure a sensor as Counter Accumulate (Standard recommendation for DUOs) in your production line settings. This ensures the sensor correctly counts and accumulates production signals from the connected device.
WHEN TO USE THIS
Use this guide if:
You need to configure a sensor to count production signals
A sensor has been installed and needs to be set as Counter Accumulate
PREREQUISITES
Before starting:
You have access to the line settings in the system
The sensor is already connected to the production line
STEPS
Navigate to your production line in the system.
Open the line and select the Sensors tab at the top of the page.
Locate the sensor you want to configure.
Click the Settings button on the right side of the sensor.
In Basic Information, set Sensor Type to Counter Accumulate.
Scroll to Sensor Setup.
In Type of Wiring, select NPN or PNP (Usually the standard option) based on the connected sensor type.
Click Update Sensor Configuration.
Wait for the device to apply the new configuration.
EXPECTED RESULT
After completing these steps:
The sensor is configured as Counter Accumulate
The device applies the updated sensor configuration
TROUBLESHOOTING
Issue: The sensor does not update after configuration
Try: Wait a few moments for the device to apply the configuration
Try: Refresh the page and check the sensor settings again
Issue: The sensor is not counting correctly
Try: Confirm the Sensor Type is set to Counter Accumulate
Try: Verify the correct NPN or PNP wiring type is selected
