Hourly Count

SUMMARY

Hourly Count provides an hour-by-hour view of production performance against your production target. It helps operators and supervisors quickly identify underperforming hours, review stop causes, and record countermeasures to support continuous improvement.

WHAT THIS IS

  • Hourly Count is a production reporting feature that displays performance for each hour of the production day.
  • Each hour is shown as either green or red, depending on whether the production target for that hour was achieved.
  • Alongside hourly performance, the report displays the stop causes that contributed to lost production and allows operators to record countermeasures for future reference.
  • Because it replaces many traditional paper-based hourly production reports, Hourly Count is commonly referred to as an OPR (Operating Production Ratio) Report.

WHY IT MATTERS

  • Hourly Count makes it easy to identify when production targets were missed and investigate why.
  • Recording countermeasures alongside production results helps teams track improvement actions over time.
  • The report also supports communication between production shifts by providing a shared view of production performance and outstanding issues.

WHEN YOU WOULD USE THIS

Use this when:

  • Monitoring production performance throughout the day.
  • Reviewing hourly production against target.
  • Investigating downtime that affected production.
  • Conducting production handovers between shifts.
  • Recording actions to prevent recurring production issues.

HOW IT WORKS

  • Hourly Count compares actual production performance with the configured hourly production target.
  • Each production hour is colour-coded to indicate whether the target was achieved.
  • Operators can review the stop causes associated with each hour and quickly register any unregistered stops directly from the report.
  • Countermeasures can be recorded to document actions taken to prevent similar issues in future production runs.
  • Production targets used by Hourly Count are configured through the production schedule using the Main OEE target.

KEY TERMS / COMPONENTS

Hourly Count

  • A report that displays production performance for each production hour.

Production Target

  • The expected production performance used to determine whether an hour meets its goal.

Stop Cause

  • The recorded reason for production downtime that affected an hour's performance.

Countermeasure

  • An action recorded to reduce the likelihood of the same production issue occurring again.

Handover Log

  • A use of Hourly Count that helps communicate production status and outstanding issues between shifts.

COMMON MISUNDERSTANDINGS

  • Hourly Count is not limited to displaying hourly production results. It also supports stop registration, countermeasure tracking, and shift handovers.
  • The report does not calculate production targets itself. It uses the Main OEE target configured in the production schedule.
  • Registering unregistered stops from the report improves the accuracy of production analysis and downtime reporting.
